Image Solutions Launch A New Range Of Innovative Digital Camera Systems With Integrated Software

Preston based Image Solutions Ltd, have just launched a new and exciting range of imaging solutions. There are four ranges of cameras to choose from all with seamless, fully integrated SPOT software and applications. Scientists buying competitive systems have to purchase additional software packages from yet another supplier making the system much more expensive, more difficult to set up and more suppliers to contact if there is a problem.

The range of cameras include the INSIGHT FireWire, RT KE Low Light, RT SE Extremely low light, and ENHANCED Near IR imaging solutions. Each of these four camera ranges have four or five cameras to choose from making a total of eighteen cameras available depending on what the user wants to achieve.

The INSIGHT™ FireWire Imaging System is designed for high resolution capture of brightfield and moderately bright fluorescence images. It uses the latest technology CCD sensors 10-bit analog x 18 MHz capture to maximise sensitivity, reduce read noise and maintain dynamic range. There is a live mode for video like operation with live specimen applications. Applications include metallurgical, defect analysis, pathological and photodocumentation.

 

The RT™ KE Low Light Imaging System has a greater sensitivity in the near-IR range but can also be used for high resolution capture of low light fluorescence, low light visible, bright fluorescence and Brightfield image capture. Also high resolution colour brightfield to low light monochrome capture, Phase /DIC, live cell imaging and fluorescence. The CCD cooling differential of -46C reduces dark noise for long exposure image capture. 12 bit capture provides extra bit depth for image enhancements.

RT™ SE Extremely low light is designed for extremely low light applications in Calcium ion imaging, Green fluorescent protein (GFP) applications and more sensitive applications of fluorescence or fluorescence resonant energy transfer (FRET). Also chemiluminescence, visible, colour and brightfield image capture plus live cell, DIC plus many other applications. The cooling differential of -48C also produces low noise, high QE images from very dim specimens.

ENHANCED™ Near IR Imaging System cameras are designed for maximum sensitivity and the generous cooling results in low noise for long exposure captures. This range of cameras are ideal for quantative low light visible through Near-IR fluorescence and colour capture. Near-IR applications are used for near-IR fluoroschomes, chemiluminescence, chemifluorescence in applications as whole boyd tumors in rats and mice, high intensity GFP detection in tissue/cell microplate assays and in chemiluminescent detection of proteins, RNA and DNA in gel electrophoresis applications. Also non- invasive tumour studies, gene expression profiles and bioluminescence.

 

SPOT™ Software is very powerful and simple to use. It enables the user to frame, focus and then with the click of a button the full resolution image is stored. SPOT Software provides the user with a full suite of enhancement, annotation, measurement, report and archive tools. Repetitive tasks can be automated with Macro scripting and there is a customisable report generator. The SPOT software has an easy to use flat file image database.
