Immersion and Laser Oil

Immersion oil contributes to two characteristics of the image viewed through the microscope: finer resoluton and brightness. These characteristics are most critical under high magnification; so it is only the high power, short focus objectives that are usually designed for oil immersion.
We can offer a range of oils with different refractive indexes which we can match to the temperature of the sample you are using. The oils we stock range from 1.510 up to 1.534.
