About IMSOL

Image Solutions has been supplying equipment to the scientific and industrial imaging market since 1993.  The company has grown considerably since then, with 2008 seeing turnover increase 42% over 2007. Image Solutions has had a very eventful last twelve months, as shown by them: entering a new market, forming a new division within the company, and starting to design, manufacture and supply their own products.

Image Solutions enjoyed success in the medical diagnosis market with the introduction of the BioView Duet. The system is primarily used for cancer diagnosis and monitoring, and is currently being used in hospitals in Sheffield and Salisbury. The Duet is at the fore-front of cell inspection and analysis, with unsurpassed levels of speed, accuracy and sensitivity. The system has the ability to scan in two modes, identify and tag up to 10,000 cells a minute and correlate the results from both scans to show both morphological and genetic pictures, all without human input. To complement their supplied systems, Imsol now produce their own bespoke parts and accessories. This service is ideal for companies that require a product or part that is not readily produced. For instance, Imsol were recently approached by the Marie Curie Research Institute and asked to produce a customised stage insert. This new insert would allow them to use a greater range of dishes on their microscopes, saving them a significant amount of money on consumables. Imsol are able to offer this service thanks to their new engineering division, which is equipped with CAD/CAM technology. The division is currently in the process of designing and manufacturing other custom parts including an environmental chamber and an anti-vibration table. For more information, please click here.

In the very near future, Imsol intend to be supplying their first system that offers Super-Resolution Imaging; the Applied Precision DeltaVision│OMX. The OMX, developed at the University of California, San Francisco, is a revolutionary system, in that it solves the two issues of spatial and temporal resolution. It overcomes these problems by implementing new technology called 3D-SIM true structured illumination. The OMX also solves issues concerning speed by using novel electronics and optics.
